databases/mysql2610-{server|client}: Add New Port
Welcome MySQL 26.10
MySQL 26.10 is the Innovation release following 26.7, which reached its
end of life with this release.
What is new in MySQL 26.10:
https://dev.mysql.com/doc/relnotes/mysql/26.10/en/news-26-10-0.html
Compared to mysql267:
- Drop seven LibreSSL guards, LibreSSL 4.4.0 has everything they
worked around
- Keep two: SSL_COMP_get_compression_methods() returns void * and
there is no SSL_COMP_get_id() or SSL_COMP_get0_name()
- Add traits to ut0prefix_cache.h and log0parsed_index_lru_cache.h,
libc++ has no character traits for a byte type
- Do not install the client-side authentication plug-ins
- Declare libfido2 and install the WebAuthn plug-in
An Innovation release is not maintained once the next one appears and
is not meant for production use; see pkg-message.
MySQL8.4+ supports only 64-bit platforms!

Shown after installing
MySQL 26.10 is an Innovation release. It is meant for testing and evaluation and is not supported for production use. Innovation releases are maintained only until the next one appears, so this port reaches its end of life with MySQL 27.1. For production use one of the LTS series, databases/mysql84-server or databases/mysql97-server. There is no initial password for first time use of MySQL. Keep in mind to reset it to a secure password. MySQL 26.10 has a default /usr/local/etc/mysql/my.cnf, remember to replace it with your own or set `mysql_optfile="$YOUR_CNF_FILE"` in rc.conf. MySQL Router is part of this package. It is disabled by default. To use it: cp /usr/local/etc/mysqlrouter/mysqlrouter.conf.sample \ /usr/local/etc/mysqlrouter/mysqlrouter.conf sysrc mysqlrouter_enable=YES service mysqlrouter start The router runs as the user "mysqlrouter" and logs to /var/log/mysqlrouter/mysqlrouter.log. Do not add a "pid_file" or a "user" entry to mysqlrouter.conf, the rc script takes care of both. When creating a configuration for an InnoDB cluster, run mysqlrouter_bootstrap --user=mysqlrouter, so that the generated files below /var/db/mysqlrouter belong to that account. If the router has to serve many connections, raise "openfiles" for its login class in /etc/login.conf and point mysqlrouter_login_class in rc.conf at it, upstream uses 10000.
Shown after upgrading
The MySQL server performs all upgrade tasks itself at startup. The mysql_upgrade utility does not exist anymore in MySQL 9.x. This version adds an rc script, a configuration sample and the system user "mysqlrouter" for MySQL Router. Nothing is enabled automatically. If you already run MySQL Router yourself, note: - An own /usr/local/etc/rc.d/mysqlrouter was renamed to mysqlrouter.pkgsave by pkg and is not used anymore. - An existing /var/log/mysqlrouter, /var/run/mysqlrouter or /var/db/mysqlrouter is left untouched, ownership and permissions are not changed. The rc script only creates the directories when they are missing. If your router runs under a different account, set mysqlrouter_user and mysqlrouter_group in rc.conf. - /usr/local/etc/logrotate.d/mysqlrouter works from now on, its "create 600 mysqlrouter mysqlrouter" no longer points at a missing user.
