devel/lua-language-server: Enable verbose builds and support ccache There are two build phases: first the port builds luamake, and then it uses luamake to build LuaLS. Verbosity (i.e. showing build commands) and building with ccache is enabled for both phases. devel/lua-language-server: Update to 3.17.1 By design, LuaLS wants to create a `.luarc.json` in your project root. This file defines important things, like module paths, global symbols, etc. For those of us addicted to Neovim, LuaLS is all about making the most of our nvim configs. Operating on the assumption that everybody likes the same thing we do, this port now supplies a (STRONGLY) recommended luarc in $EXAMPLESDIR, and a pkg-message pointing to it. Also, testing during build phase has been disabled. There are some flaky tests that can lead to failures when the system is under load. devel/lua-language-server: Fix build with DEFAULT_VERSIONS+= ninja=samurai This modifies a hardcoded call to `ninja`. PR: 291489668bddb9d0
devel/lua-language-server: Resurrect port Once upon a time, I made a lua-language-server port. It was basically one giant hack, and it sortof worked, if you stood on one foot and didn't breathe. Eventually it became too big of a burden and I deprecated it, and it was subsequently removed back in 2022. Dave Marker took the old port, worked with markj to fix some longstanding bugs in an upstream dependency of a dependency, and got the port working in a far more stable state than I'd ever gotten it. It's worth noting that the build is remarkably complex. LuaLS is built by luamake (with its baffling DSL) which is, in turn, built using raw ninja which is.... awful to work with. It's also worth noting that Dave took this on as his first port. So, here comes--once again--the lua-language-server (aka LuaLS), the most popular and featureful LSP server for Lua. devel/lua-language-server: Remove expired port 2023-08-15 devel/lua-language-server: Versions after 3.6.9 dump core (and do not compile)c2cdd7dd7e
devel/lua-language-server: Deprecate and set to expire on 8/15/2023 This port is the most important lua LSP server, and is a huge quality-of-life improvement for Neovim configuration. However, the build process is bizarre and complex, and debugging is very difficult. The tip of the iceberg is that the luamake dependency comes only with a raw ninja file; that changes nothing, but does represent the complexity of the the build process. Luamake does nominally support FreeBSD, but definitely isn't tested on it. Versions of LuaLS after 3.6.9 dump core immediately when used in Neovim, and I don't have the time or expertise to figure out why. Additionally, the last couple versions don't even compile. If someone is inclined to debug LuaLS and get it working, I would be absolutely thrilled to un-deprecate it. But if that doesn't occur, it's not worth keeping in the tree. The port is set to expire on 8/15/2023.1d7d3b2a6c

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on WWW: lines in pkg-descr files. This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these pkg-descr files. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)fb16dfecae
Add WWW entries to port Makefiles It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources. Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the port specific URL to further information. There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time. This commit implements such a proposal and moves one of the WWW: entries of each pkg-descr file into the respective port's Makefile. A heuristic attempts to identify the most relevant URL in case there is more than one WWW: entry in some pkg-descr file. URLs that are not moved into the Makefile are prefixed with "See also:" instead of "WWW:" in the pkg-descr files in order to preserve them. There are 1256 ports that had no WWW: entries in pkg-descr files. These ports will not be touched in this commit. The portlint port has been adjusted to expect a WWW entry in each port Makefile, and to flag any remaining "WWW:" lines in pkg-descr files as deprecated. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)b7f05445c0
devel/lua-language-server: Set log to a temp directory70428c494f
devel/lua-language-server: Add port This was difficult to port largely because of luamake, which: 1) Is itself built by a ninja definition file precompiled just for FreeBSD which doesn't work on FreeBSD. 2) Has no documentation whatsoever. I'd love to get rid of the BINARY_ALIAS= gcc=cc hack, but I have literally no idea where luamake picks up its compiler from. Any advice on the above is very welcome! sumneko, luamake (and associated dep bee.lua) went out of their way to try to support FreeBSD, so it'd be nice to get it working right without heavy patching. The Sumneko Lua Language Server is a comprehensive Lua development server. It functions as an LSP client, supporting: * Over 20 supported annotations for documenting your code * Go to definition * Dynamic type checking * Find references * Diagnostics/Warnings * Syntax checking * Element renaming * Hover to view details on variables, functions, and more * Autocompletion * Support for libraries * Code formatting * Spell checking * Custom plugins WWW: https://github.com/sumneko/lua-language-server2da176f88f
