devel/py-evdev: Use the evdev headers from base evdev 1.9 expects the UI_FF_* constants from uinput.h, but the port generated its ecodes module only from devel/evdev-proto's linux/input.h and linux/input-event-codes.h, so "import evdev" fails with KeyError: 'UI_FF'. files/patch-v4l_compat, added with the port in 2015 when base had no dev/evdev headers, removes upstream's #ifdef __FreeBSD__ branches for <dev/evdev/...> and makes the port build against evdev-proto instead. Base now installs dev/evdev/input.h, input-event-codes.h and uinput.h, which evdev's setup.py uses on FreeBSD by default, and build_ext generates the ecodes module itself. Drop the patch, the evdev-proto dependency, USES=localbase and the build_ecodes, --evdev-headers and --include-dirs arguments, and bump PORTREVISION. The 14.5 and 15.1 base headers define FF_MAX_EFFECTS; older ones (13.5, 14.2, 14.3, 14.4 and 15.0) lack it, and evdev falls back for it. While here, add concurrent to USE_PYTHON and fix portlint warnings. PR: 2998720e98988ddc

python: bump all USE_PYTHON=distutils consumers after RUN_DEPENDS removal Any missed ports, feel free to bump. Any ports that need setuptools at runtime can have the devel/py-setuptools manually added back to RUN_DEPENDS, but understand that this practice is deprecated; see CHANGES for details.06a08e69f3

all: remove explicit versions in USES=python for "3.x+"
The logic in USES=python will automatically convert this to 3.8+ by
itself.
Adjust two ports that only had Python 3.7 mentioned but build fine
on Python 3.8 too.

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on WWW: lines in pkg-descr files. This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these pkg-descr files. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)fb16dfecae
Add WWW entries to port Makefiles It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources. Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the port specific URL to further information. There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time. This commit implements such a proposal and moves one of the WWW: entries of each pkg-descr file into the respective port's Makefile. A heuristic attempts to identify the most relevant URL in case there is more than one WWW: entry in some pkg-descr file. URLs that are not moved into the Makefile are prefixed with "See also:" instead of "WWW:" in the pkg-descr files in order to preserve them. There are 1256 ports that had no WWW: entries in pkg-descr files. These ports will not be touched in this commit. The portlint port has been adjusted to expect a WWW entry in each port Makefile, and to flag any remaining "WWW:" lines in pkg-descr files as deprecated. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)b7f05445c0

Split out evdev headers from multimedia/v4l_compat Split out evdev headers (input.h, input-event-codes.h, uinput.h) into their own port, devel/evdev-proto, and update those to be current with the Linux 4.19 kernel. This is done in order to be able to update the rest of the FreeBSD input stack, which is forthcoming. By splititng out the evdev headers we can update them independent of other updates in v4l_compat, which makes it easier for the graphics team to keep track of them and keep them updated as needed. Update devel/libevdev from 1.4.4 to 1.5.9 instead of trying to make it work with the updated headers. This will be further updated. Update devel/py-evdev from 0.5.0 to 0.8.1 instead of trying to make it work with the updated evdev headers. Update consumers to use devel/evdev-proto rather than multimedia/v4l_compat as needed, and bump portrevisions. This is the first step in getting the FreeBSD input stack (libevdev, libinput and so on) updated to newer versions. Many thanks to all who have helped out with testing, code and exp-runs. Sponsored by: Absolight4e1b79a0a6devel/py-evdev: add new port This package provides bindings to the generic input event interface in Linux. The evdev interface serves the purpose of passing events generated in the kernel directly to userspace through character devices that are typically located in /dev/input/. This package also comes with bindings to uinput, the userspace input subsystem. Uinput allows userspace programs to create and handle input devices that can inject events directly into the input subsystem. https://pypi.python.org/pypi/evdev6f735c89fc
