Templates/config.(guess|sub): Update to 2026-05-17
Also remove our local changes that replaced x86_64 with amd64 because
these complicate porting by forcing port maintainers to replace x86_64
with amd64 in configure scripts.
Additional changes:
bsd.port.mk: Apply S/amd64/x86_64/ to CONFIGURE_TARGET. This is not
required to run configure but some ports need to use this in pkg-plist.
comms/qico, news/fidogate:
CONFIGURE_TARGET shouldn't contain "--build". Just remove it altogether
because the default value is fine.
devel/autoconf, devel/automake:
Bump PORTREVISION because they package config.* scripts.
lang/gauche, math/fricas, math/gap, math/nlopt, math/octave, net/pjsip:
Bump PORTREVISION because pkg-plist depends on CONFIGURE_TARGET.
benchmarks/pathchirp, databases/sqlrelay, devel/pcc-libs, lang/ocaml,
lang/pcc, math/adol-c, math/scilab, math/yices, multimedia/libtheora,
multimedia/libxine, security/beecrypt, sysutils/ltrace,
sysutils/pstacku, textproc/gnugrep:
Add, remove, or change patching related to x86_64 versus amd64.
audio/festalon:
Configuring with x86_64 instead of amd64 enables some MMX code that
isn't entirely correct. Patch it based on the i386 code. While here,
enable building the i386 package.
lang/pfe:
Configuring with x86_64 instead of amd64 enables the use of global
register variables but these are a GCC extension that Clang does not
support. Add --without-regs to disable them. This also fixes the i386
build.
editors/openoffice-*:
The build system runs config.guess and the newer version returns i586
for i386. Let build scripts treat i[3456]86 like i386 as on Linux.
math/reduce-psl:
The build system uses the output of config.guess to create directories
but this script might return something like i586-unknown-freebsd14.5
while the ports tree uses i386-portbld-freebsd14.5. Instead of running
config.guess plug in the value of CONFIGURE_TARGET. The proper fix
would be to let the configure script generate the build scripts so they
can use $host from the configure script but that's more work.

editors/openoffice-*: enable on powerpc64le
OpenJDK keeps its libraries in jre/lib/ppc64le on little-endian, and
source_soenv.sh in -devel only knew the big-endian triple.
editors/openoffice-*: don't require libjawt.so
openjdk8 keeps libjawt.so under jre/lib, where pkg doesn't register it
as provided, so pkg add of the package fails with "Missing shlib
libjawt.so". openjdk8 is already a run dependency.
editors/openoffice-*: fix the UNO bridge on powerpc64*
call.s came from a glibc build with the stack protector on, so it reads
the canary from glibc's TLS slot. On FreeBSD that slot holds the DTV
pointer, and a bridged call aborts when rtld grows the DTV in the middle
of it, e.g. on the first save from Python. Drop it.
Also return small structs in r3/r4 and float structs in FPRs, as ELFv2
wants. Basic, Python and Java got garbage from methods like
getCellAddress(), and the bridgetest crashed.
editors/openoffice-4: fix build on powerpc64
set_soenv.in only knows the JRE library directories for gcj on powerpc64,
so the sax and bean modules were linked with three empty -L arguments
that swallowed -L/usr/local/lib. Set them for OpenJDK like on amd64.

editors/openoffice-4: Upgrade to 4.1.17 RC1
Upgrade Apache OpenOffice to version 4.1.17 RC1.
Switch from system textproc/libtextcat to bundled libtextcat.
The system version probably never worked properly because it
lacks UTF-8 support, whereas the bundled version has been patched
to support UTF-8. Regenerate the libtextcat patch from the
version on the trunk branch which has FreeBSD build fixes.
Longer term, libtextcat should be replaced by libexttextcat.
Disable WIKI_PUBLISHER and mark BROKEN. It relies on
apache-commons-httpclient which has an open MITM CVE. It should
be upgraded to Apache HttpComponents, but that requires a newer
java.
Remove old code optimization tweak that is probably left over
from when we used the buggy -Os compiler optimization flag.
Remove patches that have been upstreamed.
MFH: 2026Q3
editors/openoffice-*: Mark BROKEN on FreeBSD 13
OpenOffice requires ftp/curl to be built with the OpenSSL backend, but
this is not possible on FreeBSD 13. curl 8.18.0 drops OpenSSL 1.x
support, which is used in FreeBSD 13 base system. Therefore, curl uses
wolfSSL instead on FreeBSD 13.

editors/openoffice-*: build fix for 13.X and 14.X
Another attempt at fixing the intermittent build failures on FreeBSD
13.X and 14.X. No failures are observed on 15.X. The failures depend
on system load and are not affected by MAKE_JOBS_UNSAFE=yes.
The failures are caused by nm failing with "Invalid argument".
nm --version reports "nm (elftoolchain r3769)" on 13.X and 14.X,
but
llvm-nm, compatible with GNU nm
LLVM (http://llvm.org/):

on 15.X. llvm-nm is available on 13.X and 14.X, and does not exhibit
the failure. The root cause is unknown.
Switch many uses of nm to llvm-nm.

editors/openoffice-{4,devel}: parallel build fail
The Apache OpenOffice ports frequently fail to build with errors similar
to:
nm: '../unxfbsdi.pro/slo/b2dcubicbezier.o': Invalid argument
but only parallel builds on 13.X and 14.X. I've never seen this on
15.0-CURRRENT. The root cause is not yet known.
Disable parallel builds for FreebSD < 15.0.

editors/openoffice-*: Re-order include path
Re-order the compiler include path to avoid inadverantly picking up
unwanted system include files.

editors/openoffice-*: rm epm from BUILD_DEPENDS
epm is not needed for building on FreeBSD, so remove it from
BUILD_DEPENDS.
Since the package is not changed, there is no PORT_REVISION bump.
editors/openoffice-*: Build with libxml2 >= 2.12.0
libxml2 2.12.0 added const to one of the arguments of the error
callback function, changing its signature. Check the libxml2 version
so the function definition uses the proper type to fix the build
breakage.

gnome.mk: rename gdkpixbuf2 to gdkpixbuf to prepare for port move
The GTK 1-based gdk-pixbuf has not existed for some time.

Remark: this souldn’t be necessary, because the version of the library is the
same, but due to many changes between these releases, it is safer this way.

Mk/**java.mk: Convert bsd.java.mk to USES
The following features have been added or changed:
- Instead of USE_JAVA use USES=java. This defaults to
USES=java:build, run if NO_BUILD is undefined. Else it defaults to
USES=java:run
- Instead of USE_ANT=yes use USES=java:ant which also implies
USES=java:build
- Instead of JAVA_BUILD=yes use USES=java:build. Does not imply run or
extract
- Instead of JAVA_EXTRACT=yes use USES=java:extract does not imply
build or run
- Instead of JAVA_RUN=yes use USES=java:run does not imply extract or
build
- Instead of USE_JAVA=<version> use USES=java and JAVA_VERSION=<version>

when building with:
FreeBSD clang version 19.1.2 (https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project.git llvmorg-19.1.2-0-g7ba7d8e2f7b6)
It appears that clang 19 does more sanity checks of unused class
methods than gcc, old versions of Microsoft Visual C++ used by the
AOO project, and older versions of clang.
The assign method in the RefAndPointer class has been broken since
forever and appears to be unused, so comment it out.
This is only a build fix and does not affect the generated code with
older compilers, so there is no PORTREVISION bump.
