Shown after installing
The port provides the enabled by default DEINIT option. It deinits the renderer, application window and audio system when an emulator is launched. This can save some resources while playing the actual games, but also benefits audiophile users, who provide only exclusive access to the audio device with the sysctl dev.pcm.%d.play.vchans=0. Without the DEINIT option enabled, ES-DE will keep the audio device open and prevent the launched emulator from also opening it in this case, effectively disabling sound on the emulator.

emulators/es-de: Unbreak after x11-fonts/ubuntu-font update The recently updated x11-fonts/ubuntu-font has different names for its *.ttf files. This broke es-de at runtime, because it explicitly wants to load "Ubuntu-C.ttf", which isn't provided by ubuntu-font anymore. The port links to "Ubuntu[wdth,wght].ttf" instead to unbreak es-de. While here, apply the new framework-provided BUILD_RUN_DEPENDS in place of the custom _BR_DEPENDS variable. PR: 298815 Approved by: osa, vvd (Mentors, implicit)ebf8edc85e
*: Bump PORTREVISION on Poppler's consumers7ddc6804bf
emulators/es-de: update to 3.4.1, improve port * Improve readability by inserting a newline between the *_DEPENDS variables, and by putting USE_GITLAB with its related variable in its own block. Also, against portfmt's suggestion, the INSTALL_DATA in the post-install-DOCS-on target is way too short to warrant a linebreak and looks weird, so remove the linebreak. * Safeguard EXTRACT_AFTER_ARGS' --exclude entry to match the intended path only. * Refresh patch. * Update and extend pkg-descr to be more in line with the descriptions given on the official homepage and the GitLab repository. emulators/es-de: Update 3.3.0 => 3.4.0, remove NLS option Changelog: https://gitlab.com/es-de/emulationstation-de/-/releases/v3.4.0 * The NLS option has been removed and the port is compiling with enabled localization support unconditionally for now. Otherwise the program would fail to start if the NLS option is disabled, see also https://gitlab.com/es-de/emulationstation-de/-/issues/2031. * Simplify the utf8cpp include directory handling. emulators/es-de: replace deprecated USES=gettext with gettext-{runtime,tools}
USES=gettext is deprecated according to the Porter's Handbook. Replace
it with gettext-runtime and gettext-tools, both are required.
PORTREVISION isn't bumped because USES=gettext is the same as
USES=gettext-{runtime,tools}.

emulators/es-de: Update to 3.2.0 Unbundle graphics/lunasvg: was the last bundled dependency in the external directory. We can now exclude this directory from extraction via EXTRACT_AFTER_ARGS and simplify its handling in the CMakeLists.txt patch. Paths in BUILD_DEPENDS are replaced with the "port notation". Addition of find_package(RapidJSON REQUIRED) in the CMakeLists.txt patch when unbundling devel/rapidjson was actually never needed. So it got removed. emulators/es-de: Simplify port
Remove unnecessary localbase from USES.
Promote unbundled utf8cpp include path to CMakeLists.txt instead of replacing
C include directive in ${WRKSRC}/es-core/utils/StringUtil.h.
Use CMake's modules for finding unbundled RapidJSON and rlottie package.
This allows to remove the INCLUDE_DIRS for both libraries (CMake already does
the right thing when using find_package).
Replace rlottie_LINK_LIBRARIES with the more proper rlottie_LIBRARIES.
