*/*: De-orbit alias.mk Mk/Uses/alias.mk was an attempt for compat with DPorts, but has rotted. This feature was never documented in the PHB, so there is no work to be done by the docs@ team. Nothing against DragonFly, but if DPorts still needs FreeBSD 9 support, they really should work that out with upstream projects. Ultimately, we don't need to keep carrying this outdated feature that doesn't affect us.14f7c29430

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on WWW: lines in pkg-descr files. This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these pkg-descr files. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)fb16dfecae
Add WWW entries to port Makefiles It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources. Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the port specific URL to further information. There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time. This commit implements such a proposal and moves one of the WWW: entries of each pkg-descr file into the respective port's Makefile. A heuristic attempts to identify the most relevant URL in case there is more than one WWW: entry in some pkg-descr file. URLs that are not moved into the Makefile are prefixed with "See also:" instead of "WWW:" in the pkg-descr files in order to preserve them. There are 1256 ports that had no WWW: entries in pkg-descr files. These ports will not be touched in this commit. The portlint port has been adjusted to expect a WWW entry in each port Makefile, and to flag any remaining "WWW:" lines in pkg-descr files as deprecated. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)b7f05445c0

*/*: Replace USE_GCC=any with USE_GCC=yes USE_GCC=any has been equivalent to USE_GCC=yes in most cases (such as i386 and amd64 since 12.x and depending on configuration 11.x, most newer installations on other platforms, and 13.x across the board). Since commit 96c17633d90386b5bcf8 Mk/bsd.gcc.mk is treating them as different spellings of the same, so continue the deorbiting of the USE_GCC=any form and simply replace it with USE_GCC=yes. This should not make any functional difference at all. Discussed with: mat, linimon, pkubajd09ed096c4

MASTER_SITES cleanup.
- Replace ${MASTER_SITE_FOO} with FOO.
- Merge MASTER_SITE_SUBDIR into MASTER_SITES when possible. (This means 99.9%
of the time.)
- Remove occurrences of MASTER_SITE_LOCAL when no subdirectory was present and
no hint of what it should be was present.
- Fix some logic.
- And generally, make things more simple and easy to understand.
While there, add magic values to the FESTIVAL, GENTOO, GIMP, GNUPG, QT and
SAMBA macros.
Also, replace some EXTRACT_SUFX occurences with USES=tar:*.

New USES imake to handle the dependency on imake. This uses accept 'env' as an argument for ports that do use their own or a different do-configure target. Modify xmkmf so it accept IMAKECPPFLAGS as default flags for imake and pass it to the called imake. Modify xorg-cf-files (the FreeBSD.cf configuration file) to allow CppCmd to be overwritten. Pass CppCmd CcCmd and CplusplusCmd via command line to each call of imake via IMAKECPPFLAGS Pass IMAKE_DEFINE with the above arguments to MAKE_ARGS so that imake spawned from Makefile generated by a previous imake also inherit the defined CppCmd CcCmd and CplusplusCmd. Make imake use devel/tradcpp all the time, so that when buidling with clang we do not depend on gcc's cpp. Make imake respect CC and CXX Make imake respect USE_GCC (if set imake will use gcc's cpp). While here: - Remove a couple of indefinite articles from comments - Trim headers - Fix a couple of ports to build with clang or use: USE_GCC=any - Fix a now useless redefinition of the extraction chain - Fix a typo in japanese/Wnn7-lib bundled imake template definitions - Fix some XMKMF execution with no env specified - Use options helper in x11/xautolock to simplify the port932db7c46c
- add comment for imake problem with clangddb9de7bc2
- cleanup headerd579cd2aaa
Force numerous ports that fail to build with clang over to instead always rely on gcc. The patch uses the new USE_GCC=any code in Mk/bsd.gcc.mk to accomplish this. The ports chosen were ports that blocked 2 or more ports from building with clang. (There are several hundred other ports that still fail to build with clang, even with this patch. This is merely one step along the way.) Those interested in fixing these ports with clang, and have clang as their default compiler, can simply set FORCE_BASE_CC_FOR_TESTING=yes. For those who have gcc as their default compiler, this change is believed to cause no change. Hat: portmgr Tested with: multiple runs on amd64-8-exp-bcm and 9-exp-clang, with various combinations of patch/no-patch and flag settings.a8693b8dee
