Unfortunately it is not possible for me to test all the consumers in runtime. So in the following ports I have removed USE_TEX=texmf so that someone who uses those can report the runtime files those are missing. If possible(based on LICENSE permission) I will try to create a smaller distfile out of the texlive-20230313-texmf and change dependency accordingly otherwise will reinstate USE_TEX=texmf. Mk/**tex.mk: Convert bsd.tex.mk to USES=tex - Update all the consumers to use USES=tex - USE_TEX=yes is the old way of writing USES=tex which has been removed and replaced in all ports - Almost all of the USE_TEX features remains unchanged - Some consumers had the same variables defined both in the mk infrastructure and also in the ports which have been removed from the ports as those are redundant. In case any of the consumers are failing to build please make sure that the nexessary USES=tex is there. Unlike previous USE_TEX=yes will no longer load the required VARS for tex and related dependencies. Reviewed by: portmgr Approved by: portmgr (blanket)721e5776c9
Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on WWW: lines in pkg-descr files. This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these pkg-descr files. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)fb16dfecae
Add WWW entries to port Makefiles It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources. Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the port specific URL to further information. There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time. This commit implements such a proposal and moves one of the WWW: entries of each pkg-descr file into the respective port's Makefile. A heuristic attempts to identify the most relevant URL in case there is more than one WWW: entry in some pkg-descr file. URLs that are not moved into the Makefile are prefixed with "See also:" instead of "WWW:" in the pkg-descr files in order to preserve them. There are 1256 ports that had no WWW: entries in pkg-descr files. These ports will not be touched in this commit. The portlint port has been adjusted to expect a WWW entry in each port Makefile, and to flag any remaining "WWW:" lines in pkg-descr files as deprecated. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)b7f05445c0

print/tex-xdvik: Update version 22.87=>22.87.06 While upgradingthe extra japanese ptex patches has been removed as those are not compatible with latest version and the old patches are also from early 2008. If someone make those work with the new version the patches are welcome. For further details or the older version of tex-xdvik with those patches please use japanese/ja-tex-xdvik Relnotes: https://sourceforge.net/projects/xdvi/files/xdvik/22.87.06/10cb4eaa8c
japanese/ja-tex-xdvik: New port This port is copied from print/tex-xdvik. The port consists of some extra patches from Japanese SourceForge page and the exact purpose is not well understood by me. The patch is also from the early 2008 and currently not compatible with the latest version. But if someone can make this work with the latest version(will commit soon) patches are welcome. From my understanding hrs@ might be the best possible person to understand this hence assigning MAINTAINERSHIP to hrs@.679b008da4

The FreeBSD x11@ and graphics team proudly presents a zeising, kwm production, with help from dumbbell, bdrewery: NEW XORG ON FREEBSD 9-STABLE AND 10-STABLE This update switches over to use the new xorg stack by default on FreeBSD 9 and 10 stable, on osversions where vt(9) is available. It is still possible to use the old stack by specifying WITHOUT_NEW_XORG in /etc/make.conf . FreeBSD 8-STABLE and released versions of FreeBSD still use the old version. A package repository with binary packages for new xorg will be available soon. This patch also contains updates of libxcb and related ports, pixman, as well as some drivers and utilities. Bump portrevisions for xf86-* ports, as well as virtualbox-ose-additions due to xserver version change. Apart from these updates, the way shared libraries are handled has been changed for all xorg ports, as well as libxml2 and freetype, which means ltverhack is gone and as a consequence shared libraries have been bumped. The plan is that this change will make library bumps less likely in the future. All affected ports have had their portrevisions bumped as a consequence of this. Fix some issues where WITH_NEW_XORG weren't detected properly on CURRENT. Update instructions, hardware support, and more notes can be found on https://wiki.freebsd.org/Graphics Thanks to: all testers, bdrewery and the FreeBSD x11@ team exp-run by: bdrewery [1] PR: ports/187602 [1] Approved by: portmgr (bdrewery), core (jhb)39fc32e828

According to the Porter's Handbook (5.12.2.3.) default options must be added to OPTIONS_DEFINE. This policy has been implemented only recently that's why we have many ports violating this policy. This patch adds the default options specified in the Porter's Handbook to OPTIONS_DEFINE where they are being used. Ports maintained by gnome@FreeBSD.org, kde@FreeBSD.org and x11@FreeBSD.org have been excluded. Approved by: portmgr (bapt)5005b67362
Fix properties on pkg-pliste04b632220
Update freetype to 2.5.2. Remove patch to add -I/usr/local/include in freetype-config --cflags. If ports need extra headers they should look for them, and not get them via a side-effect. Freetype had a header resuffle in 2.5.1, patch ports to use the new header style. Thanks go to bdrewery for the two exp-runs and rakuco for helping me with some troublesome cmake ports. Add USE_TEX=texlive for TeXLive-specific ports.bd110f37c6
Rectify USE_TEX to support both of teTeX and TeXLive. TEX_DEFAULT: A knob to choose teTeX or TeXLive. One can specify in /etc/make.conf. USE_TEX: A knob for port developers. Valid keywords are listed in bsd.tex.mk.4e09def2d4
- Separate print/tex-dvipdfmx from print/texlive-base and add libpaper support. dvipdfmx's default paper size can be set by ${LOCALBASE}/etc/papersize and/or PAPERSIZE environment variable as other programs like print/psutils do.
- Use absolute pathname in {fmtutil,texconfig,updmap}-sys programs because
manually-installed and/or old TeXLive files can prevent them from
working. [1]
- Fix pkg-plist in print/texlive-texmf.
- Remove DIST_SUBDIR from Mk/bsd.tex.mk.
